Hello. In this blog post I will list the requirements of being a freelance artist.
If I search the official requirements to be able to have this as a job, this is what i found:

Which I think is true. No one needs a "fancy paper" telling them if they can be a freelancer.
Yet I think I can give better requirements that a good freelance artist would set for themselves when starting, which is what I'm trying to do as well. (I will also refer to the last question I asked myself in the previous post about the QA talk with Craig Smith).
The main parts of being a successful freelance artist in my vision are:
Good art skills, and never stopping to try and improve, as there is always room for better.
A very good and organised portfolio, for anyone interested to be able to understand and enjoy.
A degree within this area helps usually yet it isn't mandatory to have.
Communication and Transparency as much as possible with clients is crucial. If I think I won't be able to do a job for a client either because of my skills or because I won't have the time to etc. I must say this as soon as I realise it.
Transparency would be also for the process the artist would go through. We are all different and I think everyone does work either at a different pace or in a different process. It would be useful to have an idea of how the work process is going, in case a client is interested to know.
